Wow, what a totally crazy, chaotic week! The kiddos finished up school on Wednesday and we had our annual last day of school outing – lunch and a movie usually, but this year we went to Polka Dot Pottery as there didn’t seem to be an great kid-friendly movies out. They kiddos each brought a friend and we had a blast at lunch, painting pottery, checking out Riverfont Park (how long’s it been since you fed the goat vacuum, climbed on the huge wagon and played the stick game off the bridge – throwing sticks off the bridge on the upriver side and racing to the other side to see whose stick comes out from under the bridge first) then topped off the afternoon with some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream! Then off to another annual tradition – a family dinner at Spaghetti Factory.
I taught a Purchase & Sale Agreement all day on Thursday at the Spokane Association of of REALTORS®. I just love teaching and sharing my knowledge. No matter how long I am in the business, I believe that we can all learn something. Then on Friday I taught a business planning class at my office. Another very satisfying event!
Friday night we put on a Mexican dinner for 20 that my Moran Prairie Auction Committee had donated last year at our annual auction fundraiser for the Parent Teacher Group. I had a few of my committee members and executive board members help and wow, can I tell you what an awesome help they were. It was a fun evening and we hope that the attendees will purchase it again next year!
Emerson (our daughter) tried out for and made a Breakers team. Jeff (my husband) is coaching her team. So, Saturday morning, they were off to play in a soccer tournament. I stayed home and took Cole (our son) to a friend’s birthday party. Meanwhile, we were having our multi-family garage sale at my in-laws’ house. That afternoon we were off to Coeur d’Alene to celebrate Father’s Day with my dad at their lake cabin. Unbelievably, the kiddos swam in the lake – Brrrrrr! We then cooked a yummy steak dinner, and after enjoying some family time, we were headed home to try to rest up a little.
This morning (Father’s Day) we were up at o’ dark thirty for Emerson’s last soccer game of the tournament. Their tournament record was 1-2. Her team did a really nice job considering they have only been laying together for a few practices. The off to run some errands then to dinner with the in-laws at our house to celebrate our dads!
Needless to say, I am exhausted and feel like Summer can now begin, now that the craziness of this past week is over. Of course, this week we start with golf camp, next week basketball, lake time, Camp Lutherhaven, more golf, family vacations, family birthdays and on and on. Summer will fly by I am sure. It is my goal to try to take some time to relax and enjoy our beautiful weather and enjoy the Summer with the kiddos.
I hope you all are gearing up for a wonderful Summer vacation also!
