Living the crazy, great life!

Ready for the Sun!

We’ve had a ton of rain these past couple of weeks and I am totally ready for the sunshine. This is the last week of school for the kiddos, so I know they are ready for the sun and Summer to start, too!

I have been remiss in writing my blog the past couple of weeks. Life is crazy and gets in the way. To recap the highlights of the past couple weeks, Jeff and I went to White Bird Idaho for a ATV trip which was interesting as our friend fell and was airlifted out to Lewiston. She’s ok and we managed to have some fun anyway. We enjoyed the annual Gonzaga University Alumni Board festivities last weekend with a board dinner at Milford’s on Friday night (yummy) and a really fun event at Bozarth Mansion on Saturday evening (great food, beverages and an exciting prize drawing – for those that won, not us unfortunately). All the ticket sale proceeds go to fund scholarships for deserving GU students. I have really enjoyed by time on the Alumni Board of Directors.

We had our annual family garage sale this weekend on Friday and Saturday (the rain on Saturday keeping lots of folks away unfortunately). The kids get to figure out throughout the year what they want to sell and then they get to take their proceeds and buy something they really want (after donating to the church and putting some in savings, of course). Cole bought the Wii Skylanders game and Emerson bought a new DSi tonight. They were so excited and I am thrilled that they are learning about earning money, giving to charity and saving. I love life lessons well learned that are fun, too!

Jeff and I finished up our softball season today (subject to a tournament and All-Star game). I have to say that by the end of this season, I felt in better shape, that I could run faster and that I didn’t hurt myself every game. It was fun to get out and do something like this together. I am ready to get our lazy Sunday’s back though. We’ll see if the spirit moves us to play again next year.

About six weeks ago I started an eating program called Take Shape For Life. I have lost 17 pounds and feel great (I am sure this is helping me to run faster, too). I am over a third of the way to my goal weight and am so excited to continue this great program. I’ll write a blog about the plan sometime soon and will certainly share some before and after photos once I reach my goal weight. At some point I have to lose that baby weight (since my baby is now six years old).

The real estate market continues to improve and Jeff and I are staying really busy. It sure seems like the worst of the market is gone and we are in recovery mode. Interest rates are still at all time lows, inventory is down and sales are up and now is the perfect time to buy. Spread the good word – real estate is a great investment!

Have a great week everyone!
